Fiery Stalagmite

Glowing red with heat, this stalactite and stalagmite nearly touch.In fact, I suspect they are infinitessimally close, but I can't prove it! I know that stalactites and stalagmites form as water passes over limestone, rather than with fire. But the colours here are so vibrant I thought the never-found-in-nature picture of these features formed by fire was worth capturing. A portion of the Mandelbrot Set magnified approximately 7 million times.
